Saturday 3rd November @ Braemar Road
Birmingham ‘A’ 2 – 3 Leeds ‘A’
Birmingham ‘B’ 3 – 3 Leeds ‘B’
After the rain clouds had parted, the action began. All four Erdington and Saltley players did the district proud today. Everyone of them did me proud. Everyone of them did their family and friends proud. More importantly, they did themselves proud and at the end of the day, that is all that matters.
It would be unfair for me to write a full match report for the match that I was in charge of, as that would mean only showering praise on two of the four Ton players. However, I will mention highlights from both games.
Callum – all district managers commented on the skill, pace and work rate of Mr Brown, after he caused the Leeds B defence many problems. Scoring a goal, Callum was cool and calm throughout but also ‘put in a shift’.
Josh S – Adam’s M.O.M following a Herculean performance in the centre of the pitch. Josh gave the performance of a true caption and ensured that the Birmingham midfield was kept tight and compact, therefore allowing the team to build their attacks.
Treymaine – playing on the right and upfront, Trey was his usual dangerous self. His strength and pace created many chances down the channels and through the centre of the field. Furthermore, he came incredibly close to scoring on a number of occasions.
Jayden – he was here. He was there. He was everywhere. Playing both at the heart of defence and midfield, Jayden struck up a great partnership with Aston’s Loik and got onto the scoresheet following a neat left footed finish from the edge of the area.
I could not be prouder of our four representatives and know that the memories from today will stay with them for the rest of their lives. District football is about just that…creating lifelong memories. That is also what the whole of the Erdington and Saltley District squad is doing for me and for every other fan out there!
Well done boys and roll on next week! Time to show the rest of the West Midlands what The Ton have to offer!
You should be exceptionally proud of yourselves tonight! I certainly am!
Up the Ton!
