Squad: Harvey, Alfie, Shaun, Hayden, Brandon, Jacob, Callum, Tierry, Elijah, Ryaq, Kruize, Jermaine, Tristan, Teon, Shilo, Brayden,

After the Under 10s put a show on the night before, it was the turn of the Under 10s to show what they were capable of. Against a talented and on form Chelmsley Colts team, it was a chance for some of the boys on the periphery of the squad to stake a claim for a starting place, whilst the established players had to prove why they are just that.
The game was split into three thirds, each consisting of 20 minutes. The Ton started the game brightly and played out from the back, attacking at pace and with a considerable degree of composure. After the first 20 minutes we were leading 4-0, after Shilo had turned on the style. Although, without the hard work of the midfield and stability of the defence/keeper, Mr Waldo wouldn’t have been able to score those goals. Tonn and I both noted how much our team spirit has developed since the start of the season and how each player looks out for their team mates. This sort of thing is priceless!
The second twenty minutes saw a raft of changes and to their credit the Chemsley boys battled back and actually won that period 1-0. However we were still pleased with the number of chances that the lads created, with Ryaq particularly menacing down the right for The Ton.
The final twenty minutes saw the goals start flowing again and before long the game was sewn up. Jacob scoring a hat-trick from defence is a standout highlight of the final third. The final score of 10-1 shouldn’t disguise the fact that our boys were made to work hard for their win. The Colts were high on confidence following a great start to their season and battled from the first to last whistle. They should all be proud of their efforts and we wish them well for the remainder of the season. A big thanks (once again!) to Wayne from Bromford Lions, who is fast becoming our ‘go to’ man when we need some help!
Well done boys for a great performance all round. There is no match this weekend as the Birmingham team is in action. Next up for some of you is the West Midlands 7-a-side Championship on Saturday 8th November.
Until we meet again…enjoy your football!
Up The Ton!
