I’ve volunteered countless hours to school sport in the nine years that I’ve been a teacher. I’ve travelled from one end of the country to the other. I’ve spent hours and hours trying to raise the thousands of pounds required to keep the district teams going throughout the season. I do it because I love it.
However I hate this time of the year. The time of the year when I have to disappoint boys who have worked their socks off and given it 110%. For those boys that have not made it through to the final squad, please keep your head up and don’t be downhearted. You’ve been a pleasure to work with and you gave it your very best. That is the most that we could have asked for.
Please believe me when I say this was an exceptionally difficult decision for us to make. Please believe me when I say all of the boys that made it to the final round are genuinely talented boys.
After seven evenings of trials and approximately 200 boys, we are pleased to announce the final squad.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of the parents for their wonderful support and understanding throughout the whole process.
Good luck to all of the boys that did not make the squad. We wish you every success in your football and hope you see those in year 3 and 4 again next year.
Congratulations to all of those that made the squad. Preseason details will be sent out in the very near future.
