In their first outing since the rain-soaked heartache of the BPSFA cup final and the crushing blow of the penalty shootout loss to Gloucester, the girls pulled on their Ton jersey to take on South Birmingham and Kings Norton at Boldmere St. Michael’s.
From start to finish, the girls were immense all over the pitch. Playing 3-4-1, they pressed high up the park, suffocating their opponents in possession in their own third. Their constant pressing ensured they won the ball back in dangerous positions and this allowed them to create an abundance of chances.
With captain La’Tia leading the way with distinction and a triple hat trick, the girls were in inspired goal scoring form. The returning Octavia showed her class to bag a brace, with additional goals for Rihanna, Savannah, Shay Leigh and Millie.
Overall the goal scoring exploits of team stole the headlines, but the defensive solidity of the side should not be overlooked. Throughout the evening, they restricted their opponents to a paltry of chances, despite their obvious talent.
What an evening!
What a team!
Well done girls!
Up The Ton!
