Two tournaments into the season and two wins for this group of incredibly talented young men. Following the achievement of winning the Bath International Cup over the August Bank holiday weekend, the lads put in another stunning performance to be crowned 6-a-side champions of Birmingham for the second time in three years.
During the course of the morning both teams showed immense promise, as well as superb footballing talent.
The black and white team missed out on a place in the semi final thanks to the last second equaliser that they conceded against Aston. However they regrouped to claim a win against East Birmingham in the final of the secondary competition. One of the most pleasing things about the morning was the fact that u10s Cameron and Blessing competed so well against their older peers, as well as the new boys who all settled in well after making their debuts. Very exciting indeed.
The gold team cruised through their group after scoring eight goals in their three games and conceding only one. Then in the semi final they beat Aston before squaring up against a very talented Sutton Coldfield team. The boys hit top form in the final, putting three past Sutton and keeping their fourth clean sheet in five games. The football that the boys played was breathtaking and many of the parents in the crowd complimented the lads on their football style. An truly amazing morning.
The start of the season couldn’t have gone any better for the boys. We’ve been blessed over the past few years with the talent at our disposal and it seems we’ve got another great group, but we knew that already!
Up The Ton!
