Following a period of inactivity stretching a month, the boys got together for the first time in 2018 and put on a great performance against local friends Phoenix United.
Played on an enclosed 7-a-side pitch, the pace of the game was relentless and the action was non-stop as the balled continuously remained in play.
After racing into an early lead, the lads never looked back. While the scoreline is obviously pleasing, the best thing about the game was the effort shown by the team, despite not playing a game for weeks. There were some tired legs out there by the end of the game but not once did the lads give up trying.
Furthermore some of the close inter-play between the lads was excellent. With space and time a premium, the boys showed great skill to control the game and maintain possession for long periods of the game.
Overall it was a wonderful way to start the year and something to warm us all up on what was a cold and frosty morning.
