2017 Trials – Boys – Squad List

Dear parents and boys,

First of all please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in publishing the squad list.

Secondly thank you for your support parents throughout the whole process. You’ve made what’s a difficult process much easier for all involved.

Most importantly, thank you boys for your effort. Over the course of several weeks you have given it everything and that’s all that we could have asked for. Your attitude has been immense and effort outstanding.

Unfortunately we can’t put everyone through, even though we would love to. From over 160 players, you got down to the final 18 and this should fill you with incredible pride.

If you did not make the squad, please don’t take this as a criticism of you ability; keep your head up and continue to enjoy your football. We wish you the very best for the remainder of the school year and the best of luck ahead of your time in year six.

2017 Trials – Girls Squad

Thank you girls for making last night’s trial so enjoyable! You were a credit to your schools and did yourselves proud.

The effort from all of you was immense and the spirit amongst you was perfect! A dream!

As discussed, two squads will shortly be announced. Please check the website on Monday for a breakdown of the A Team and B Team squads.

I will also contact you all during the next week with details of the first training session and team building exercises!

Finally, thank you too parents. Your support was perfect last night.  You allowed the girls to play free from any pressure and this meant they truly excelled.

Have a great bank holiday and half term!

2017 Trials – Year 3 and 4 Boys – Squad List

Dear Parents and Players,

Thank you for your incredible support and attitude respectively. This year the trials have been a pleasure and that is down to you.

Parents – you have been supportive and understanding. Trials are not the easiest thing to lead as ultimately some boys will be left upset. As a teacher, this doesn’t sit easy with me but you have been incredibly easy to work alongside over the last month.

Boys – your attitude has been exemplary. You played wherever you were asked and gave it 110%. A few weeks ago at the outset of the process, you were asked to give it your best shot and you surpassed even my wildest expectations. You should all be proud of your achievement in getting to the final stage, regardless of whether your name adorns the squad list or not.

If you have not made it through to the 2017/18 squad we sincerely hope to welcome you back next season. Every year a returning boy makes it through to the year 6 squad, despite having missed out on the year 5 team.

Finally, I will be contacting all of the head teachers of those who played tonight. They need to know how proud you did them and their school!

Thank you.

2017 Trials – Saltley Schools – Year Five Boys

Dear parents and players,
Thank you for your support and effort respectively this evening. Tonight was a pleasure for us coaches as your sons were a delight to work with. The boys were a credit to you and they did themselves and their school proud. When we finished the session early due to the rain, the lads actually complained as they wanted to play more football!

The effort and attitude of the boys was amazing.

It is always really hard when deciding who to put through to the next round. Regardless of who makes it through to the round two, all of the boys should hold their head up high, safe in the knowledge that they gave it everything that they had.
